I'm a passionate user-centered designer and knowledge seeker at the heart. I thrive finding simple and creative solutions to complex problems. My ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies has been extremely beneficial as a product designer.
My interests have always lied at the intersection of humanity and technology. While pursuing a music degree, I found myself gravitating towards design. I taught myself the principles of visual and web design while I was trying to build my own website. After my education I pursued a career in hospitality management and customer service out of my natural curiosity about people.
Working in a solely human-centric profession has helped me develop deep empathy for people and it had become the foundation for my design decision-making process. Here are few things that I've designed and put into practice during my past 9 years of customer service experience:
- I worked relentlessly with my department managers to create better, more intuitive internal tools for company staff members.
- I guided and designed an entire process that helped the company launched their newest product line (from ideation to end users).
- I redesigned the UI for company's homepage to make the booking system more intuitive and easy to navigate (as a result customer re-booking rate was increased by 16% the following month).
It wasn't until I was on the verge of starting my own business when I realized that I've been doing user experience design all along. Designing solutions to solve problems is what gets me out of bed every morning, eureka!
With my newfound epiphany, I made up my mind that I wanted to do user experience design full time.
I believed that I am where I am now because of the convergence of multiple different paths. My diverse background combined with design expertise is what sets me apart as a designer.
